gf 4 mx440se to a r8500le on a 300watt psu with 2 cd roms 2 hard drives 1 cpu fan and digital cpu monitor read out in on of the cd roms slots. Im going to try and get one ofoses cheap powermax 350 watts or something like that im need something fast. I thought since my pc was overclocked with a o/c video card that it was cauing crashing so i lowered the vid card to stock and relaxed the system ram.

(sorry i need to start using (,'s) and completing my sentences so next post i will.)

a cheap psu any good and btw my current psu is a ALLIED 300watt. Sad thing im broke and my sister is only loaning $20 max for a psu cheap off the net.

/edit: Well guys i have found a hot deal in HD forum that has $17 cases and they have one case with a 500watt psu and its pretty nice cheap case. Yes i know what im getting my self into by buying a crazy out of name psu, but i rather buy a new case and get some psu with it. case

Well, don't expect even 400w of power out of a 480W for under $20...

If you want to OC your cpu AND video card, you'll want a slightly better PSU. As to what will fit in your range and handle the overclock nicely, I have no clue. If I were you, I'd lay off the overclocking and stick to all stock till you can find a PSU that will handle the power nicely, that is, if the new one you linked to can't handle it either.

The power issue is something to look at too, but an 8500le doesn't draw that much power. I know someone using an XP 2000 palomino, cd burner, gobs of RAM, 7200 RPM drive and a cheapo ~300W PSU which should be plenty for your setup.

Try Driver Cleaner. Clean all the video drivers out (even the ATIs), reboot, reinstall Cat 3.6s. Should solve it.

I was upset about my 3d mark score earier so i just formated from xp to 2k and they went up. Omg as i think when i was 1st installign the card i booted up and tryed quake3 arena but like 1 minute my pc crashed but i thought it was normal or something else.

try running totally stock speeds, then overclocking one thing at a time and see whats causing it... card just may be overclocked too far, also your AGP\PCI busses are probably running out of spec (seeing the 4 in 1 drivers on your list, I'm assuming you're running a VIA chipset), which I believe ATI cards are very finnicky about.

When I replied I didnt see your post, but you should run at stock speeds unytil you figure out why it's crashing.

Ya i know i figure that part out ;p sry if you got offended by the long arrow but anyway where can i find some RAMHEATSINKS for the radeon?

Run everything at stock speeds and figure out the crashing problem before you go overclocking. Solve one problem before you create another.

No prob. 😛

If I were you I would first run at stock & make sure everything runs fine for a few days, then slowly overclock & then maybe get some ram sinks for your 8500 if you fell you need them . 🙂

Good advice there. 😉

Don't waste your money if you don't need to!!!! JUST DO WHAT I SAID EARLIER!!!!!!! Please, at least acknowledge my assistance, as crazy as it may sound, it can save you enough time\money to get a good quality non overkill PSU. If you HAVE to buy a new PSU get an Antec 350W.

EDIT: I've never heard of that brand, and I don't like to play Russian Roulette with my precious components, but it's your call.

CRASHED! WTF NOW IM PISSED. I have everything unplugged becept the 2 hdd's! The last freaking pc i had it was a shuttle ak32l and it has a radeon 7200 and it did the same thing but differnt powersuplys and both are the pc's are VIA chipset it there some other kind of ati patch for this and btw my current card is refreb but it was only refreb im guessing b/c it was barebone card.

And yes it @ stock every single thing and ram is @ SPD stock and lastest bios.

Feel me in more about the finnicky isuse and do others with via and radeon expience the same lock ups.

/edit btw it was looping in 3dmarks over and over just fine but in quake3 or rctw it poops and locks up.

http://www.hardwareanalysis.com/content/topic/5588/[/L[/L] link explains all! this link concerns me fu*k im kt400!

Did you clean out the NVidia and ATI drivers and reinstall the latest ATI drivers? Driver Cleaner link is in my first post up there ^^^.

i just formatted to win2k w/ the ati in so theres no nvidia.

Try putting the 8500 into another PC and test it, isolate a video card issue before you randomly swap out components.

well sh!T my friend was trading me his gf 3 classic for my radeon 7200 but i went on and brought this card like a dumb ass like thissText
