So my apartment windows face the direction of the sun. I was able to get rid of most of the sun on my patio by putting up patio blinds, but my bedroom has windows and there is no way to put anything in front of them since there is no way to get to them. Some of my friends recommended some goooood curtains, I also thought about a small $100 window AC unit. Do they make some kind of removable tint for your bedroom windows? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

AC unit, dark shades and blinds (navy blue works for this). paint your room a darker colour because if it is on the side facing the sun, the amount of light you choose to enter will keep it brightly lit and not dull and drabby as you might expect from a dark-colored room.

Do you have a ceiling fan? turn that on.

At night, open your windows and let the breeze come in to cool it down. wake up around 8am and close the window before the sun comes out. hope it helps 🙂
 
Blinds at walmart are like $3.74.

After you get some of those, get some DARK curtains like blue or black and a curtain rod to put up over the blinds. If you buy cheap ones, buy 2 and double them up. That should block the evil sun.

Tape white cloth or paper to the inside of the window. Cover with the weatherproofing plastic you can find at walmart.

The best one I've found is made by Gila. You should be able to get it at Lowes/Home Depot, etc.

When I had a similar situation I got some of that white styrofoam they sell at HomeDepot (it comes in sheets the size of plywood) and fitted them to the windows, then covered the outside of them with aluminum foil, the key is to get it to fit at tight as possible, remember the Styrofoam can compress some so leave it a little big. Iron the Aluminum Foil down smooth and it is almost a mirror, put some heavy drapes behind it, used safety pins to keep them closed tight and you will never even have to see it.
I did all this because I was working nights, and my bedroom happened to have 3 windows that pretty much kept light in the room all day, terrible setup for a bedroom IMHO, I added the Styrofoam for insulation, keeps the room nice and cool.
