I just had this idea, it might be crazy though. What if the US of A and Mexico became one country and everyone from both countries were both citizens.

The US would then rebuild Mexico using "old" American citizens which would create long term jobs(Or at least for a few years) while we give the "new" citizens the odd jobs the Illegals are taking now.

Now I know I am missing a lot of details, but would this be a viable solution to some of the problems or would it cause more trouble than it solves?

No. That sounds like more of a political joke than anything.

Democratic Plan to end illegal immigration: Make them all legal!

This is exactly what Chairman Obama is trying to do. First get Soviet health care, then amnesty for illegals (who Obama said he wants in unions), then the new citizens can send for their relatives who move up en masse for Obama's handouts. Obama and Dems are maniacs sticking a knife in back of US. There isn't one stupid idea tried in Europe or South America that they aren't trying to revive - even as those places are trying to break free.

The solution to the problem is very simple: 10 years without parole to anyone caught employing them. That would end the problem over night.

Why don't we just follow the lead of Mexico and make our immigration laws like theirs?
Surely they would not complain so much if we had laws that were the same, right?

Are you insane? It's bad enough having millions of illegal immigrants here, why the heck would you want to add countless millions more, in addition to taking on the corrupt mess that is their government, the drug lords, etc etc etc? No, the right answer isn't "becoming one country" with Mexico, it's securing the damn border and formulating a coherent immigration policy.

Yep, but there would have to be a quick and reasonable way to verify legal status. Those are the three keys to the immigration mess: secure the border, overhaul the immigration process (including providing an easy way to verify status), and punish the hell out of any business hiring illegals.
