Who needs mean old Republicans when you have rich progressives to kick the poors when they're down? After huge donations by guys like Ron Conway to elect Democrats to elect Democrats to city office and now it's time to put their agenda into action.

http://money.cnn.com/2016/10/14/tec...rancisco/index.html?iid=ob_homepage_tech_pool
Protip: The Democratic party is a centrist party, and your very own link makes clear that the donations are being funnelled to - wait for it - centrist Democrats to get elected to the Democratic party board.

"Much of this money funneled to the usually sleepy but now red-hot June race for the Democratic Party board. Yes, it’s super wonky, but the Democratic County Central Committee’s rubber stamp endorsement can sway close elections.

Since DCCC elections are only every four years, the newly elected folks will not only endorse in this November’s supervisor race, but next year’s, and the next mayoral election …

So Mayor Ed Lee’s “moderate” democrats are playin’ for keeps."

Until the Republican party can stop being a clearing house for authoritarians and bigoted imbeciles, and join the rest of us here in observable reality to start solving problems, we're unfortunately stuck with progressives and sane, reasonable centrist conservatives inhabiting the same party.

Which then leads to you posting garbage that you've clearly not read yourself, in order to meet the quota of BothSidesDoIt™ for the day.

Because without the BothSidesDoIt™ BigLie, you'd have to admit that you've been lied to for your entire political life, and that you bought it and were a good useful idiot.

And that's just not very comforting for your psyche.

Why is anyone surprised, a lot of limousine liberals are "separate but equal" at heart, they just don't wear their racism, bigotry, etc. on their sleeve like those deplorables.

Just threaten to build some low income housing in their lily white rich liberal enclaves for the downtrodden, homeless, refugees, etc. and see how fast they become worse than any bigoted, brain defect, conservative they love to point their smug finger at.

This is what Giuliani did, basically Police homeless so aggressively they'll go somewhere else. I support that plan but I'd like to see better help too.

Why not just have them work pulling rickshaws around town? They'll work for cheap and will help clear up the muffin stump problem plaguing the nation. Win-win.

I thought a lot of the interns working in Tech companies were the ones living in tents there.

But I haven't been to California in a long time I guess.

Even Dems come in different flavors. There's nothing hypocritical with supporting them for the most part but not wanting a bunch of worthless drug-addicts/mentally ill shitting on your public streets. The homeless are a scourge and it gives me calm of mind knowing that a left-leaning elite might destroy their ranks as well as a right-leaning one.

Hopefully one of them stabs you dead in the street for your wallet so they get a few hot meals and maybe a shower and we get a world with one less person like you.

Please find a way to express yourself that does not call for the death of other members.

In case you were too lazy and/or illiterate to read the thread nevermind the OP link, centrists are by definition somewhat conservative.

What value do you believe the homeless hold?

Most of this country is not far removed from destitution. The public social safety net is a more formalized substitute for what people born into wealthy families have. You hardly seem 1% material so it's hardly your money paying for this anyway.

It is because liberal politicians in general tend to be more sympathetic to the homeless, but for the wrong reasons. Homelessness disproportionally impacts women, the elderly, the mentally ill and minorities. A just and fair society should care for the least fortunate. Most liberal politicians in large cities will say things like this and make it part of their platform.

Of course when it comes time to actually do something about it, the most wealthy of their supporters are the first to object and fight placing facilities in proximity to their neighborhoods, which means the middle class ends up bearing the brunt of it.

And after the hypocrisy happens enough times and enough resentment builds, this is how you get Trump as a candidate.

Considering that many of those sleeping on the streets in SF were tracked back to Reno and other NV city councils shoving one-way bus tickets to SF into their pockets and loading them onto Greyhounds, this probably more of an incentive to return them to their home? state.

Relative lives in neighborhood where they are trying to build a homesless shelter and a bunch of them have been protesting. We've seen him on the news 2 times already as the group protested.

A week ago, the protest group had a fundraiser to help pay for buses to travel to back and forth to the protest sites. A bunch of retirees and unemployed people with nothing better to do.
They raised over $10,000.

Wife is still trying to wrap her head around that one.

Well, until SF provides more shelter for the homeless the whole thing is moot. From the article-

San Francisco Supervisor Mark Farrell, who authored the bill, said if there are no beds available at homeless shelters, Proposition Q won't go into effect. The proposition does not include additional funding for bus tickets for the homeless or shelters.

It's "This is what we want to do, but we'll have to do this other stuff to get there."
