solution to ALL shooting sprees and COP killings

-first bare with me on this... English is not my native language- so the solution...

ALL PEOPLE INC POLICE > NOT allowed to KILL and OR carry ANY kind of firearms.

ONLY the army@ special forces > allowed to KILL and carry ANY kind of firearms.

so want to kill? like guns? join the army. ( or become a criminal) but hey, how about my freedom to carry guns ? ( o shut up) and how do you enforce the law ? easy ..

- state-of-the-art non-lethal weapons-

I mean weapons better that regular guns , technological, advanced, more powerful, hell inflict as much pain as possible BUT WITHOUT KILLING. I see this as a law + technological problem. We cant train cops to be expert marksman, and they do like to pull the trigger.

but what happens is somebody robs a bank etc? like i said. SPECIAL FORCES. regular cops? non-lethal (ray? guns) no killing allowed sorry.

99% of gun crimes are not mass shootings and are committed with illegal weapons. This hardon for mass shootings the media has is a distraction from the real problem.

We want to stop crime, not just gun crime. The way to do that is by removing incentive to commit crimes in the first place, not by forcing people to create new ways to break the law or by catching them after they've already harmed someone.

That would never fly in America.

Owning guns is a cultural issue in America. Owning guns in America is a right that people don't take lightly. When our ancestors set foot on North America, the gun has been with us.

Just a few months ago they wanted to release the smart gun. It got laughed at and rejected.

We like our guns!

This is my rifle. There are many like it but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my rifle is useless. Without my rifle I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy, who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my rifle and myself are defenders of my country, we are the masters of my enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.

sorry but imo that's 100% utopic. there is ALWAYS going to be crime. how do you deal with that ( freedom to carry guns, kill all criminals!) is the real problem.

If you take the guns away people might have to use chairs to kill people but you can't stop murder.

When President Obama was elected a lot of people worried about gun confiscation bought guns at gun shows with cash so there was no record of the sale, cleaned, oiled and packed the guns and ammo and then buried them.

so its a cultural issue... btw imo- like it or not- its more feasible to stop firearms than to remove incentive to commit crimes. why? you don't need to. JUST STOP MAKING AND SELLING BULLETS.... ( xept for the army guys) then in time> guns become just decoration .... there is always going to be CRIME, btw it is more difficult to kill with a chair. 🙂 also i find firearms so... archaic, the concept haven't even evolved much, is like we are still using arrows.

Making drugs illegal sure worked well, that alcohol prohibition worked out exceptionally well too. I foresee this working perfectly.

You are not going to stop criminals from obtaining firearms and you are not going to stop psychotic individuals from planning or committing mass murder. Nevermind confiscating EVERY firearm in the US which will not happen considering the sheer volume of firearms per person in the US. In fact I'd bet the organize crime would be salivating over this new black market you would end up creating out of your good intentions. They would and will gladly help to fill the void in the US. Then again the intention of the 2nd amendment isn't there to prevent crime, to allow you to hunt, etc it is a amendment put in place to allow citizens the chance to rise up if they ever had the will and desire to do so in order to overthrow a repressive, runaway government.

Reloading bullets is almost a national past time around here.

You'd have to raid a lot of places for those set ups too.

A lot of people still use arrows too actually, I have an old Jennings Unistar I haven't shot in a long time.

You have no concept of how the USA works. None.

Some people aren't too bright, also.

Guy has a point... up to a limit. How many people do cops in the UK shoot?

Propensity to be armed means propensity to be shot.

OTOH, it's not feasible to eliminate guns here. Yet I see a cultural revolution towards crime the day everyone is on video and knows exactly what you've been doing. If it's a widespread cultural understanding that NO crime can be gotten away with, it may dramatically reduce it AND in turn reduce the cop's need to shoot first and ask questions later.

I suspect crime is growing scarce in a connected world.

Your post is not well thought out. If it is, it shows you have a lack of understanding of how law enforcement works and how crime works.

Some recent stats:

"Police officers in England and Wales opened fire just five times for the year 2011/12. Out of these incidents, two people were killed, including Duggan.
In the four years to 2012, armed officers officers opened fire 18 times - nine fatally. No-one was shot dead by police in 2012/13.

The two fatalities in 2011/12 emerged from 12,550 operations during the same period, in which firearms officers were on the scene and had been given authorisation to open fire, even though they did not, according to the latest Home Office stats."
