not to cool hard drives, necessarily...just to bring decent air into the top of my HX-08 case.

looking at the GlobalWin I-Storm II, but i can find no specs on it anywhere.

does anyone have a solution for this?

thanks...

Antec makes a small 5 1/4 drive thingy with three fans on it to blow air in... here is the thingy i was talking about... this is just a link from a retailer that i know has it (Altex Electronics). its probably similar to what you were looking for.

I am using that hard drive cooler from Antec.
it works pretty good at keeping the HD cool but I dont know how it would work as just a fan...

there are several solutions, and 2 diy methods.

most solutions involve using 40mm fans attached to some plastic thing to attach to a 5.25 bay. they call those "bay coolers" of which bay cooler is a brand.

the istorm is supposedly quieter due to the type of fan it uses...

the diy is buying your own 40mm fans and attaching it to a faceplate.

another diy involves using 2 faceplates that are stacked, and attaching a 80mm fan there. needless to say, this requires 2 5.25 bays.

i have 2 of those Antec bay coolers and they don't work that well
the 3.5 rails and don't match up right with the driv bay and the fan face plate
its better to get a 80 mm fan and attach it to 2 plain modded face plates for more air flow

I have that Antec 5 1/2 bay cooler and it works pretty good. It's just a pain to take out and clean.

my faceplate did not want to line up as well.
I moved the hard drive back and just attached it to the case

no problems so far.
