I'm having problem with this configuration: Soltek SL-75DRV2, Athlon XP 1600+, Apacer 256MB CL2 DDR
PC2100, 300W. When I press the power switch, both MB and CPU fans spin for about 1/10 sec and then the MB is completely dead. Doesn't anybody know what can be the problem or where to look for the source of the problem?

Sounds like the motherboard is shorted out to the case. Take the board out and set it on something nonconductive and try to power it up.

Agree with woodie: remove the mobo and with cpu, ram, video card installed try to power up.

Thanks a lot for help! I tried to remove it from the case, power it up and hey it works! I haven't tested it thoroughly yet so it's still possible it is damaged somehow but at least I know why.

Happens to the best of us. Doubt you did any damage.
