Soltek or ABIT

I have locked in pretty much everything I want for my new budget comp except for the motherboard. Help me decide which motherboard I should get:

SOLTEK SL-K8AN2E-GR

or

ABIT KV8 Pro

I was dead set on the ABIT until I started to read about some temp reporting issues that it has. The Soltek is currently out of stock at Newegg. Should I wait for the Soltek or should I buy now and get the ABIT?

NOTE: I do a moderate amount of gaming and plan to mildly overclock a 3000+ with whichever board I end up with.

Soltek... the chipset is a little bit superior to the K8T800 Pro, although not by much, I generally like both.
I  my K8AN2E-GR though, I think Soltek rules, you will love it if you decide on the Soltek.

80+ views and only 8 votes in the poll? Anyone else have any thoughts, or can anyone tell me if they have experienced the temp misreading problem with the ABIT board?

That's a good sign, actually. Only people that have had experiences with one of these boards are voting.

That's the way it should be ;)
I actually haven't used the Abit, but when my experience with the Soltek has been so positive, I figure I can voice my opinion on it, I love the board.

First off, nForce3-250Gb is superior to K8T800. Second, the Soltek K8AN2E-GR gets way better user reviews and votes than the KV8 Pro at NewEgg. Third, the Soltek K8AN2E-GR gets very favorable user feedback from AnandTech users. Fourth, check out THIS REVIEW. It seems Wesley likes it a lot, too.

NoReserve, you should have NoReservations about buying that Soltek motherboard. :p

I would go with the ABIT KV8 Pro, in my opinion it's a better built board (100% Japanese capacitors VS OST on the Soltek :(, uGuru for monitoring, fan control and overclocking). I also like the K8T800 Pro better, and have to disagree that the nF3-250Gb is superior. I have used both but not this particular Soltek board.
The sound codec is better on the KV8 Pro (ALC658 vs ALC650).

With that said I'm sure you'll be happy with either one of them.

Yeah I initially was just going to get the ABIT board and not worry. But I have been reading about temp reporting issues. So I saw the Soltek. Now I read that it has temp reporting issues too. Are these temp issues prevalent throughout all 754 boards? Should I worry about the temp reporting problem?? Or are they generally close enough so I wouldnt have to worry? Also, thanks for all the comments, keep them coming!!

oh man, who cares about temp reporting issues..
make sure you have an OK cooler and a case fan or 2 and you won't ever have to worry about your temps!

basing a mobo purchase based on that IMO is ridiculous

So, I really shouldnt be concerned at all with the temps I could possibly be getting? I thought that temps were of some importance in order to ensure that your CPU and motherboard were working correctly especially when OCing? I suppose so long as its stable and it doesnt trip the hardware alarm to shut the chip down I would be ok. Is this the general consensus?
