Soltek KT400 problems

Hi,

I recently brought a Soltek KT-400, XP1800, GF FX5200 128MB and 728MB DDR.

My problem seems to be that my network will tell me that the cable is disconnected then connected, over and over again. It won't accept IP's or DNS's from my router (which isnt the problem, as its working fine right now on this pc), it just comes up invalid ip address in status, or automatically provides its own ip address (which is freakin dissabled).

Also, with my sound blaster live! I get this constant beeping noise, which is extremely high pitched and drives me up the wall. MP3s won't play (have got codecs) and dont have any sound in games. The SB Live is working fine right now in my other pc.

This brings me to think its something to do with the PCI slots, I have no idea though.

Another thing is that BF1942 will not load. It just goes to a blackscreen then freezes and has to be closed via taskmanager.

I tried brand spanking new Detonator drivers and VIA 4n1s. Problems are still there. I tried XP and W2K and the problems are still there.

Any help would be extremely appreciated as the mobo is second hand.

Cheers,

Try moving the SB Live to a different slot, also make sure onboard sound is disabled in the BIOS,as to BF1942,try disabling fastwrites in BIOS and setting AGP to 4x mode, does it then load?

Being a second hand board I wouldn`t rule it out being faulty,as to your network problem you`re better posting that problem in the network forum since there`re plenty of network experts there.

Btw welcome to the AT forums, StuntMonkey.

Did you ENABLE the following in the BIOS?

PCI Streaming
PCI 2.1 Compliance
PCI (Dynamic) Bursting
Bus Mastering for PCI Slot

What Network Card are you using?
Did you install Service Pack 1 with WinXP or Service Pak 3 on Win2K?
