Soltek DRV2 show fan readings <4K RPM?

I heard that the Soltek had a <4K RPM fan alarm. Can this be disabled? Does the board still report the RPMs?

The Soltek will not report fan speeds below 4K RPM. The alarm and the auto shut-off for fan failure can be disabled in bios.

I really hope they can and will enable lower speeds to be read in a future bios release, because most case/power supply fans spin well below 4K RPM.

I've got the Soltek SL-DRV2 and two case fans which both run sub-3000 RPM. For some reason, the monitor will report the speed of one at about 3000RPM always. The other fan is set to spin a bit slower...it doens't usually register in the hardware monitor (I'm guessing it spins at about 2200RPM). So...i consistenly get speed reported from one, but not from the other.

FWIW...

Mine too will report a reading that never changes, it therefore does not work. There are only (2) fan headers that report RPM's, they are the yellow one's. The other (2), the white one's do not.

Kinda makes ya wonder what Soltek was thinking. I have my 12V, 7,000+ RPM fan running on 5V so no readout here.

Exactly. Very stupid idea, especialy since most case/power supply fans spin well below 4k. I hope they get it together and fix it, as well as getting rid of the 3rd RPM indicator in hardware monitoring which can never be used on a motherboard with only 2 RPM reporting fan headers anyways.

Also would be nice if they could put a slight delay in the "auto shut-off for cpu fan failure" in the bios, as many people are having problems getting their machines to startup with slow/old cpu fans.
