I wouldn't have either of them.

But I can venture a guess as to which one will be in better shape in 10 years...

Uh-oh, am I in trouble? I'm far from a car guy, so I probably shouldn't say stuff like that. Plus, I'm a Pontiac fanboy, so my answer was very easy.

Sky > Miata > Solstice (Judging by appearance only.)

I have to wait and read the performance reviews.

MSRP on the Solstice is lower than the Miata btw ;)

Honestly, I wouldn't pick either. I'd wait for the Sky.

This poll isn't very fair either. You are comparing the 2006 Solstice to a 2005 Miata. The 2006 Miata is the next gen, and thats what SHOULD be compared. You can buy a 2006 Miata in a couple of months, much like the solstice will be available in a couple of months as well. I'm sure you can place your orders for both cars right now if you really wanted.

From a performance standpoint, as far as acceleration guys, the current gen Miata (excluding MSM) is probally about on par with the Solstice, and probally a bit more nimble.

The next gen Miata should overtake it in both acceleration and nimbleness. The Solstice GT will definately be a quicker car though.

Honestly, I do not like, nor do I hate the styling on either (next gen Miata/Solstice). I'm a bit neutral towards both. Some lines and angles look great, and some don't.

I do not find this comparison to be very fair.

If the Hard Top really does come out in '07, I will buy it. For now I have to be happy with the GTO and the 944. :D

I agree. The Sky may just be my next car. Either that or a second gen Mazdaspeed MX-5. Don't really like the new ones. Don't like the Solstice much either.

The Miata would run circles around the Solstice, but the Solstice looks better and once GM discounts kick in, it'll be thousands cheaper. And if I buy a roadster, it's gonna be a poser car anyway so I chose Solstice :D

I don't like the sky... Consider resale value, I don't think that a Saturn will out resale a Pontiac based on the same platform. Not in this part of the world anyway.
