Sold the M3 and Tundra, am carless....

slag

Lifer
Decided to get out of the debt of car loans and sold the 98 M3 and my 2008 Tundra. Total savings with those 2 gone are $850 a month for loan and insurance.

So I've been looking for another vehicle and think I found one. I located a 2002 4runner sport with around 160k miles. Price isn't great, but its doable and will be a cash sale. If all goes well, I'll have it in my driveway tonight. I'll just put liability on it so insurance should also be much less.

No collision or comprehensive on your only form of transportation? That's a risk. But if you have enough money to go out and buy a replacement if you have to... your risk to run. 🙂

edit: $850/month is a lot. *nods*

You had a car loan on a 20 year old car?

I did. Dumb, yes, thats why I no longer have it. To be fair, it was a low mileage M3 which is worth much more than your average car, but still, yep, dumb. It was almost paid off too, but i just didn't drive it much so got rid of it.

I drive my wife's car 95% of the time which has full coverage. This one will sit in the garage most of the time except on weekends and won't see probably more than 4k miles a year if that.

just getting broke in. I dont like the 2003-2011 body style much, but the previous, 3rd gen, is pretty ok in my book. The ride isn't as nice, but the overall appearance of the vehicle is much better i think.
