link for the 2GB

Shipping for me was $8 budget $11 ground $20 2nd day.

Trying to convince myself the 1GB card would be worth getting for my rig ($68):
3.3GHz E6600 8800GTS 320MB 4GB 730MHz DDR2 Win XP 32bit
Got a CRT, so I can play at any resolution...but I prefer 16x12 or 19x14.

Lots of games I can't/wont play because they don't run good....but I don't know if this card would enable me to play many more that I already do. I've been trying to sell some of my cars, and would be able to get a new rig then...and I could leave this thing for the old/DOS games. So far nobody wants car from me. HMMMmmm...

Wow, that's a pretty smokin' deal. I'm one for one 2GB model GTX460.

Currently, have one 1GB Gigabyte WindForce GTX460 OC card. Used to have two, but I sold one to a friend with a Q6600 rig. Got another friend that is still rocking an 9800GTX, but he has to underclock his card for some reason for some games. I guess it's just flaky.

Was thinking of either giving him this new one, or my old one. Kind of undecided.

Do you guys think this is a worthy upgrade over a GT430? It would make a nice gift for son since his bday is coming up in a few weeks.

For gaming? Certainly. The GT430 is a 64-bit or 128-bit memory bus, with 96 CUDA cores. The GTX460 has a 256-bit (according to description, they also came in 192-bit) memory bus, and 336 CUDA cores. Possibly a higher clockspeed too. If nothing else, most GTX460 cards were fairly overclockable too. (Stock speed is 625 or 675Mhz, many could make it to 820 or 840Mhz on stock voltage. At least my Gigabyte cards could.)

Ya he plays a lot of StarCraft 2 and Minecraft. He plays both online against/with his friends.

Slight upgrade performance/power/heat/noise from gtx 275, but probably not worth it.

Thanks for the advice Larry. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the 2gig model despite the NE reviews. He's been asking for a better card for awhile now so hopefully this one does the job better than his $20 Zotac gt430 haha.

Heck yes. The GTX 460 is around 4 times more powerful.

Thanks for the graph DominionSeraph! I'm not into gaming anymore so I don't keep up on video cards to much. Glad I have you guys to answer my questions. It's what makes this place such a great community!:)

Looks like they're already gone guys - in store only (and no stores have them). Both were available online a few hours ago.
