Site now says: "Sorry, no longer taking orders for this item
Not available for store pick-up". BTW, I bought one of these drives and it is a Sanyo with burn-proof. There is no rebate for the 12x4x32.

These drives have burn proof.
Look at the older threads on this drive, and the 10x rewrite.
Extensive threads, covering everything ya need to know

It's not at staples.com but it IS at some of the Staples B&M stores, so you may be able to pricematch it in a store and use a $25 off $100 or $20 off $100 in-store coupon. Why did BestBuy.com have to sell out of these?!?!? grrrrr.....

Is this 12X4X32X Iomega compatible for Safedisk 1 and safedisk 2 backups with CloneCD?

How does it compare to the Plextor 12/10/32?

Thanks!

The 12x4x32(with the firmware upgrade) supports DAO raw writing but I don't think it will read subchannel data. It's great if you combine it with a CD-ROM that reads subchannel.
