well I went to the site to check.. its pre order est delivery is 8/22
They must be in tight with visiontek they are always running promotions for them..

ps there is something very strange on the pricing
I live in Ar sales tax is 6%

I added it to cart and tax comes up to $38
that is over 8% tax....where are they getting this from?


 
sorry I have not gone through the check out.. still resisting.. I'd call BB and findout what's up with tax..

even at 550 tax should only be 33 at 6%.
 
My total would turn out something like ~ $515.00, shipped.
Any one has any idea the physical length of this card?
My gtx260 is 10.5" and I refuse to buy another longer than this.

don't think it will get better than this for a while, unless you can apply the 10% coupon for any item in the store to it.
 
It will get better. All these cards are getting cheaper by the day. 8800GT was almost $300 during the peak periods now its $100. 9800GX2 was like $600 then recently it hit $310. Remember this is all under 6 months.
 
Folks, I second those who are holding out.
For a month or so, it will be in the sub $400 folks.
As shoddy as the economy now is, they have to move inventories.
 
that's a near certainty that the card will be available for $400, the only answer is when? gtx 280 is ~ $370 AR right now for the best deals that I've seen, $100 or so over gtx 280 is VERY reasonable for this card, so....it will probably not slip below $400 until next gen comes out some time in 09.

only reason 8800GT went down is because there other cards that were faster and competing cards from ATI.

there are NO competing cards for 4870x2 at this time and I doubt Nvidia will come out with 280X2 any time soon. So I'd say that price of 4870x2 will stay up for a while..

Anywho, SOLD OUT online.

i *really* didn't think i would get this .. especially when i got the back-order email

Yeah I've already got mine up and running.

Kudos to Visiontek to supplying two 6-pin PCI-e power adapters when the video card requires that you use a 6-pin and an 8-pin. No configuration I tried would work and I'm working on getting a real 8-pin :|

Edit: called them up. Apparently Visiontek doesn't even supply 8-pin PCI-e power adapters at all.
