these will go poof in under an hour. poof in under 15 minutes.

I ordered one for litecoin. I paid 326 due to tax in NJ

as a miner I am annoyed that people buy these and open a reseller account on amazon then sell at 150 to 200 markup.

they now list at 490 on amazon with all little startup resellers. So unless you troll on amazon 100 times a day for:
r9 280x
r9 290x
r9 280
r9 290
hd7970
hd7950

you can't get a price.
if you find a deal from amazon prime it sells out in about 5 to 25 minutes.
and what kills me is the guy buying it is not mining or gaming he is selling it on amazon at a big jackup in price.

Amazon does not care as they get a cut of the resellers price. plus amazon can turn around and tell AMD we sold it at mrsp

this time I was lucky to get one for mining at mrsp.

Note:

to mods since the price no longer exists this is now a rant. So feel free to move it or delete it.

Locked as the deal is dead, and this is turning into a mining discussion.

You order only one!? That's just plain silly if you ask me.

That's what I get for sleeping in on a Saturday morning :'(

I would have ordered them all since they go for $500+ right now

I figure let me get the one and be nice let anandtech deals know about it.

I should have 1 clicked all 4 of them,

so what AMD should keep their card for themselves and do the bitcoin mining 24/7?
AMD is in a funny spot Newegg just does all the gouging in price. the other sellers list at msrp. they sell out in 2 or 3 minutes and the buyer just lists it at 125-200 over msrp. I am thinking this can't be good in the long run.

Bitcoin GPU mining hasn't been profitable for a few years now.

yeah but lite coin is a nice little money maker.

I am annoyed that people are doing the reseller move.

But the good deal is now just a rant . So the mods can move it or delete it.

Supply and demand if someone is dumb enough to pay 150 to 200 over msrp then someone will gladly sell it to them. Nothing new here

agreed. and amazon makes out better this way then newegg's direct gouge of price.

I can guarantee newegg gets lots of 25-27 day returns due to dead cards.

I'll just keep spamming my searches at amazon for the timebeing... and watching this forum like a hawk ;P

I agree that it sucks that some people are abusing the mining blitz right now to try to make a quick dollar off others vs actually mining themselves.
