The original name of this software package was named Q and the headquarters was in Bethesda Maryland.
* It was named Q after Q from the TV show Star Trek the next generation.

The software package itself is nice and most all the people who helped build it were also really cool people except for the lead programmer who followed a guru from India.

This lead programmer one day mention to everyone that he is doing a food run and wanted everyone to give him a list as he is going to Mcdonalds.

2 hours later he comes back with no food and no money.

He said he kept it all there because the cashier gave him bad vibes.

To this very day he still owes me $7

Just background info on the software package called SOLARWINDS and the people behind it.

Just saying not to ever trust the lead programmer with your own cash.

Just a pointless thread from what I can see. I am familiar with solarwinds and we utilize it at my job.

Solarwinds is a company. They don't sell an application (or application package) called Solarwinds. So even more confusing.

job/software name. Meh....

I preferred the gui they had from 10 years ago.

The artist they hired to draw the gui interface to the Q software was a stay at home mom.

They contacted this woman who was designing knobs and switches for any website. Her art was first rate. Seem from this latest rendition everything is flat and almost monotonous.

I hope they hire her back as she did an excellent job on gui interface art.

All the people I know just call it solarwinds network diagnostic tool interface thing now.

So what name does it really have now? Solarwinds made a bad move acquiring them. The gui looks like total crap.

The funny part is that people are trying to copyright what has already been invented!

I have no idea which product you are talking about. You seem to be babbling also. Engineer's toolkit? Orion? Network Performance monitor?

Solarwinds Orion is arguably one of the best monitoring solutions out there...

You do know that in some companies it is illegal to talk about internal affairs right if you worked there right?

No NDA was ever signed.
Do you know what a NDA is? Your company's rules internally probably state that you cannot talk about its private affairs in public.

Even if you never worked for them, if a employee or ex employee told you, you are still liable.
