Ok folks,
I have been working with AIX and Linux for a few months off and on at my job. We have all kinds of *nix boxes everywhere.
Now, I just started pounding on some Solaris stuff. (old ELC 250 running Solaris 8).
Can anyone tell me why Solaris does their slice setup in such a different way? And WHY do I need to go buy an extra software package to change partition sizes?
In AIX all I need to do is use chfs and I can change everything on the fly.
Please educate me.
Thanks
