We're gonna setup a little webserver running Solaris 9, and see how it works, and I got the "honor" to set it up.
Of course, I've only been using it for like 1½ days, so I dont know how well it works when push comes to shove yet, but I just thought I'd give my initial impressions.
So far, I must say it seems like Sun have listened to people a bit more than previously.
One nice thing that they really should have done earlier is that SSH is installed and enabeled by default.
Another very nice thing that is definately minor, but still a plus, is that they seem to have implemented some minor improvements in the userland tools, such as the -h switch for commands such as ls, df, etc, along with some other stuff that comes in handy once in a while.
Stuff Im still missing is lsof, or something similar, along with the oh so comfy -z switch for tar.
And of course, they still insist on turning on every damn service in the world by default
Oh well, can't have it all, and hopefully, more nice things(not to mention more not so trivial changes) will show up as I use it a bit more.
