solaris 8 - boot disk, disk suite

i have to use a boot disk to get into a solaris 8 system (system is not currently bootable) to fix a config file (i know what the problem is, i just need to get into the system now) but the slices are mirrored using DS 4.2.1. so i could boot with the cd, mount one side of the mirror for / and make my config changes, but then the 2 sides will be out of synch. so far, i havent seen a way to bring up the meta device via boot disk. can i just mount both sides of the mirror, fix the config in one side and then cp -p it over to the other side and reboot? or is there a different way of doing this?

thanks
