Sol 0 Mars Colonization Demo/Beta

Demo appears to be limited in the fact that I cannot seem to find any water on the planet.

The pod you launch with can hold 2 astronauts, I took 6 crates of supplies with a food to water ratio of 2:1... no water resource appears and placing a water thing does nothing unless placed on a water resource.

Greenhouse is handy but drains water too... wonder if you have to simply stock up heavily on water for 120 days until you get a second shot at extra resources?

I wonder, would you perhaps enjoy playing Planetary Explorers?

Its got a lot of elements of exploring a new world, crafting and building a base (over the course of the game). Very fun! More of FPS style though.

I ended up buying it for $3.99

After about 20 tries I figured out how to get started:

SPOILER...?

Send up a rover, refueler, 5 or 6 supplies and the rest water and food. No astronauts. Take the rover and just explore to find the resources you need. I didn't realize it but the 'explore' button is kind of like a on/off button. Once it's on it's on. On the mini-map is a little grid button, if you click that it will show you a resource map overlay of the planet. It took a while but I finally found water near a mountain.

After a while it will allow you to send up another rocket. That one I sent up 1 astronaut and a lot of supplies, some food/water. Once I got him up there I was able to build enough stuff to be self sufficient. I haven't figured out how to get the astronaut in the damn facility though. That's really the end of the demo since you only get 2 launches.

Rover to explore? Makes sense.

FPS? Was just about to say 'I'll check it out' but that makes it something I'm not going to even bother with. Thanks for the heads up though 🙂
