softwares for cropping or editing vista mce recorded content?

is there a software for editing the shows i recorded? nothing fancy, just cutting
sometimes in a 2 hour show, i just want a clip. i dont want to keep the entire 2 hour file. these hdtv shows take up so much spaces!!
