MS Photodraw and Visioneer Scanner software.

My Photoshop print outs look awful. They look very pixellated. I think it may have something to do with their drivers.

Or maybe the user. What DPI do you have them set at?

I have it set on Photoreit 3 or 2400x1200 on my HP 970cxi.

Print outs come out like true photos with saturated colors with Photodraw and Visioneer but with Photoshop, it's pixellated and you can tell it came out of a color printer if you look closely.

Someone needs to learn about color profiles and how to set the print settings correctly in Photoshop ;)

I'm not a Photoshop expert obviously. I just want my pictures printed out nice without too much work. I've got thousands of pictures of my kids that I do not intend to mess around with because I dont have the time to. I just don't understand why wouldn't the pictures print out as is since Photodraw and Visioneer seem to be able to.

I'm sure they will. (I have a HP 990 CSE, not much diff than the 970C). Just go into page setup, then print setup. Choose the paper type and the print type, and hit OK twice. Then print the image.

Of course I've tried that. It doesn't work for me. Photoshop printouts for me just do not print out well. I've tried everything from turning off reit to going to 2400x1200 but it didn't work.

Hmmm. Well it works for me, so I'm not sure what you're doing differently. You've also tried resizing the image, right? Adjusting the res and print size?

I'll stand up and say that for me as well photoshop prints look horrible, dispite the fact that I know how to properly resize images and optimal DPI outputs for the different sizes.

I have an HP 932c (uses the exact same drivers as the 970, the 990 has a slightly different driver setup mainly due to the duplex) and for me Qimage works best, and PSP7 does a nice job as well.

software used to print pictures?

My web browser, which takes me to www.samsclub.com where I submit my photos for processing. It costs too damn much for photo paper and ink any more! :D

What software would automate printing wallet sizes? Also, some automatic picture correction would be nice, but I assume most of the consumer-level stuff will do that (obviously I haven't tried any lately).

For the record, I'd rather avoid manual touch-up w/ PhotoShop if at all possible.
