I was recently show this link: http://www.kegetys.net/SoftTH/ for a software triple head program.
My own (minimal) testing has so far been a success using 2x17" 1280x1024 monitors and a 1680x1050 monitor in a few games (]l=RACE: WTCC game]http://www.lonyo.co.uk/images/DSCF0792-resize.jpg[/l]/GTR2)
Just thought I would advertise this (IMO) VERY nice piece of software to people who may be interested, or may be stimulated into buying more monitors to expand their gaming. It certainly pushed me over the edge when i was considering adding a 20" to my existing 17" monitors.
Currently I'm running a 7800GT for the centre and right monitors, and a 7200GS for the left monitor. Since the graphics are all done by the main card, your secondary card can be a cheap one. Saved me loads over looking at something like Matrox Triplehead2go.
It supports mixed resolutions (up to 4096 maximum width and height though
). I am running 1024x768 on the left and right monitors, and 1680x1050 on the middle monitor to keep within the 4096x4096 texture limit, but it's not a problem.
