I got my Dell 20.1" LCD and was dissapointed when I watched a WideScreen movie. There were the (all too familiar) black lines on the top and bottom of the movie. Is this the software player, my video card, the LCD, or is it supposed to be that way?

I'm guessing software.

there is going to be lines depending on the movie

like if the movie is 2.35:1 than there will a thicker line

if you maximize the movie than the lines will not be as thick as a normal display

unless there are lines running along the left and right side of the movie than this is normal

there is no software that is going to do anything for you

find a movie that is 16:9 and there is still going to be lines but they should be a lot less thick than a 4:3 display

the dell is iirc 1680x1024 or something close to that

If you want to do a manual stretch, play it in Media Player Classic and press the up/down arrow to stretch/shrink vertically, and left/right arrow to stretch/shrink horizontally.
