CD audio is a wav file with a header pasted on. Both are PCM digital data. Both use the same data structure except the header is different. And CD audio discs use a different sector size and structure than data CD's, but that doesn't change the fact that both use the same basic data stream.
CDex is a fine ripper, but EAC is better. CDex is fast because it doesn't guard against ripping errors.
