Software to recover files from CD's?

A friend of mine passed away recently, and his wife asked me to copy all of his pictures onto one DVD that I can copy for his friends and family. Almost all of his pictures were on CD's (he kept hardly any on his hard drive). When I try to copy files, I am getting errors on about half the discs (Cyclic Redundancy Error). The CD's do not have any scratches, so I am not sure what is causing the errors. I have tried reading the discs on 4 different computers and keep getting the same errors.

It's either a bad burn or a bad disc. Almost no way to recover those files if you CRE errors....sorry.

OK, thanks for letting me know. I guess that maybe he had a problem with his burner or something because about 1/3 of the discs give me the error.

I'll try the eval version. If it works, it is definitely worth the $40. Thanks for the info.
