Software to monitor and compare Power Supplies? :)

Well, I think after I buy all of the new components to upgrade my system, I will then be the owner of both an Antec 300W power supply as well as an Enermax 350W power supply. I would like to test both and see which one is actually better. Of course, then I will use the better one and give the other to my wife's computer

My question is, how do you actually test a power supply with software? I am thinking some sort of Motherboard monitoring software and make sure that the voltages remain constant as you go up in load?

Does anyone have any recommendations, tips, tricks, and need-to-knows that might help me get started? Thank you all in advance for the help!

Software monitoring systems are about as reliable as reading tea leaves or examining chicken guts. Unless you use a digital multimeter with a data logger you will just be fooling yourself.

Ok, well that was what I was already thinking, but I'm still somewhat lost on exactly what to do.

What should I test? How should I "load" the PC to test fully? What do I need to be looking for? What would be a significant warning sign that just may be the best indicator of which one is better than the other?

It simple.....pick one of them and install it in your PC. If it does not perform as expected, swap it out with your wifes unit.
