Software to convert video files?

I have most of my movies ripped to x264 mkv files. When I want to play them on my TV I convert them to a .vob file to play on my ps3 wth mkv2vob on my windows desktop. I'm lazy right now and I'm on my linux laptop. What could I use on linux to perform the same conversion. As far as I know mkv2vob just takes the mkvs and transcodes the audio from DTS to AC3 then remuxed the whole thing into a vob with splits every 4GB for FAT32 compatibility.

Anything that can do this?

Can you just stream to your ps3 from your laptop?

I have all of my videos on my linux file server and they stream without issue using ps3 media server.

Not mkvs without transcoding/remuxing using something like ps3MediaServer which my laptop can't do in real time.
