software to break an mp3 track into multiple tracks?

bought an ebook, but it's one solid file. I want to break it into chunks so I can pick up where I left off. I have Nero, but I dunno if there's anything in there that will do it. Any suggestions? Basically I need to import a giant mp3, break it into small chunks, and spit it out as mp3 or wav.

I'm using iTunes for the audio books, btw. Is there a feature somewhere in there that will let me split it into 5 minute segments?

audacity ... should do it add a .sourceforge.net and you're there.

excellent app. 🙂

ive used it on numerous occasions for splicing and mixing a number of song clips for use in slideshow soundtracks.

You will also need to download Lame to use Audacity. Put it anywhere you want; the first time Audacity starts up, it will ask you where it is. Great app though.

Okay, I've downloaded Audacity, install the Lame DLL, and imported my MP3. How can I auto-split it into 5 minute tracks and export as individual MP3s?
