I was wondering if there is any software out there that adds checksum functionality to windows so that when you move large files or a large number of files it will automatically check the contents to verify before and after to make sure no corruption occurs as a result of the file move.

Thanks!

agreed teracopy - especially when using fragile non-ecc protected transport machines.

keep in mind most servers are end to end covered in ECC - they can detect when something goes wrong - consumer machines may have some ecc in the cpu - non in the pci express bus/south bridge/none in ram - corruption is rampant with usb devices due to noise and windows crappy usb drivers.

teracopy ftw.

with a 64bit o/s you won't run into the nasty kernel paged memory fault when you copy a monstrous file :)
