software that takes 3 install cds and turns them into one installer

anyone know of any software that lets me rip however many cds and make them into one installer so that i dont need to go through all 5 of the cds in order to install something, its a pain in the ass when you reformat

a work around is to rip all those cds to isos and burn the whole thing to a dvd and use something like daemon tools for installation. Note that copyprotection schemes would still need the original disk in the drive (depends on the game).

Wish I had other ideas for you but Daemon Tools may present problems of its own. There are some games out there that will refuse to install if they see anything like Daemon Tools installed.

I've always wondered if you could simply merge the directory structure and files together to create one huge install DVD. I think I remember people successfully doing that with the UT2004 installs...

There is a site that explains how to do this for a lot of games. I think it was fileforums or something like that. A google search will find it.

Before you begin with install cd merging you should know that we are talking about at least several dozen different install shields. Some may even require recompilation of the install script. I would go for the ISOs-on-DVD method and forget the whole thing with merging.
