Software setting holding SATA drive back?

I just installed Daemon Tools (to mount Command and Conquer Gold iso) and now I'm noticing that my DVD drive and/or HD is noticeably slow. I was wondering if maybe DT changed something in the OS. The mobo is Gigabyte DS3 and all drives are SATA (Sony burner) and Maxtor 500GB (7200.10) HD.

Any idea on where to start poking? I noticed it when I was trying to copy some data dvds with my music backup (new rig).

Thanks!

I use the Virtual Drive, and it works fine.

I would try to defragment the drive first. If that doesn't help, maybe you should try the Virtual Drive...?

I've used daemon for years and haven't had a problem with it. JustaGeek, Daemon *is* a Virtual Drive program.
