I'm about to recommend ACT! 2005 to a client of mine, but I'd like to have some alternatives, if possible. I'm looking for any CRM or "contact manager" software recommendations from any salespeople out there.

My client will be using this software with a CardScan 700c business-card scanner, so native support for this product would be preferred, but not necessary.

Thanks everyone! :thumbsup::D

I've used Goldmine, ACT, and SalesLogix, but SalesLogix most extensively. ACT seemed to be ideal for an individual. Both Goldmine and SalesLogix were implemented across the majority of each respective company I worked with, and they're really better suited for implementation across a large number of people, with dedicated hardware and support personnel. Siebel is the same -- they used that at Amgen for a number of years, and may still.

I noticed the opensource program mentioned in this thread, and I am going to DL it to check it out. If you're feeling adventurous, I'd recommend diong the same.
