software recommendation for merging two partitions without data loss

basically, i have a laptop hard drive with a 10gb (system) and 20gb (data) partitions. i would like to combine these two partitions without loss of data. normally, i would just back up the data to another drive, but at this time, i am without a drive to back up the data partition. what software would you recommend to combine the two partitions? again, i emphasize that i would like to do this without loss of data. a google search seems to imply that partition magic 8 will do this. can anyone confirm this, or recommend another software that will satisfy my needs? thank you.

partitionmagic can do this easily and has without fault for me in the past. Never lost any data but anything that has to do with moving data always takes a while. I'm sure there are other tools too, but that's always the first that comes to mind for me.
