I have an HP CD-Writer 9110i and am interested in burning some of my own CDs from downloaded MP3 files. Can anyone make any recommendations as to shareware software that isn't too crippled that will do this? Any practical experience comments would also be greatly appreciated.

TIA,

Ken

Music Match Jukebox added this feature to their all in one package. The unregistered version records at 1x I think, but it's a good app.

Sonic Foundry's Siren Jukebox is a all-in-one ripper/player/cataloger/burner app. I used it until I got AudioCat which rips faster than I thought possible.

Siren is FREE:Q after rebate from Beast Buy starting Sunday. It's in the ad. I bought it like that several months ago.

The easiest that I have found is MP3 CD Maker. A very small program that coverts on the fly and normalizes before the burn. Highly recomended.

I like using nero but I sort of almost wanna go out and buy mp3 studio 2000. That looks like a pretty good program too.

I also have a 9110i CRDW.
I use MusicMatchJukebox(unregistered) it burns at 2X. I like because it is extremely easy to use. Just doubleclick the songs in the library and click the CDR button when you got all you want and burn baby burn. It converts them for you.

Or you can use something like winamp to convert the mp3's to wavs and then use the adaptec software that comes with the burner. More steps but the winamp is pretty fast converting them and you can burn them at 8X with adaptec easy cd.

I haven't used Nero to burn mp3's, so I don't know about that one. I will probably register MusicMatch Jukebox so I can get faster burns. It is great for ripping songs also.

Nero is the best!
i heard (not sure) that new version if easy cd creator can create directly
audio cd. Even Windows Media Player 7 can do the job .

The newest version of Adaptec's Software, 4.0 will covert and burn. It does a good job of it too. The only gripe I have with it as opposed to Nero is that Nero will catch most corrupted mp3's while Adaptec's will not.

Nero is better for buring mp3's however, there are advantages to having the Adaptec software but those are primarily DirectCD which is for direct file access to CDRW's.

I have to go with EZ-CD creator 4 on that... I've been burning CDs with that with so much ease... did had some issues with Nero in the past though.... Not sure about it now
