Software for setting the order of photos in digital photo frame

hi
I wondered whether anyone could help me out.I am a bit frustrated at the inability of digital photo frames to keep the order of photos I suggest(sorting my son's photos for our memory🙂!!).I understand it's an universal problem and difficult to sort out.I have looked at various ways including using picassa to rename the whole files, etc (http://picasatutorials.com/2009/05/picasa-tip-keeping-pictures-in-order/
Anyone have any experience with something called DPF Manager (http://www.dpfmanager.co.uk/ ?
It seems to keep crashing with error messages at least for me to even try it out:\.
Any other smart solutions to make sure I can set photos on the frame to go in a set order and not just based on their original digital footprints.
Many thanks
simon

hi
I have tried changing the numbers,file names,etc.
Since the photo files I have are less than 20 , (each having about 2-300 photos)I have tried the alphabetical order;I have named each file as A 000, A001,etc and the next B000,B001,B0002 and so on.But the frame still mixes up the order so much so that my boy is one-year old in one and then just about to enter university in the next!
Am I missing something? Would you care to elaborate...apologies for being dense about this and have you tried it out?
regards

Does the photo frame have some sort of manual to suggest how to order the photos?
I would have thought that alphanumerical ordering would be standard, unless the frame looks at folders first then files.

may have to take a small sample and try out having all photos in one folder and do alphanumerical ordering vs separate folders

Dahak asks a good question. Are all digi-frames alike? I don't think so. What brand and model are you using.

Most frames I have seen have the option to move sequentially through photos (i.e. numerical/alphabetic order) or randomly. It sounds like yours is on the random setting.

I had an mp3 cd player that would order by the same order that you put files in the folder. I guess that would be creation date.
