Software for online video conferencing?

I've been asked to look into the possibilities of holding online video/audio conferences.

Knowing very little about this (beyond playing with netmeeting way back when), I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on something that would allow, say 8 people to have a conference online and be able to talk & see each other at the same time....

I'm sure this is possible, but I'd jus like some suggestions on useful/affordable software that people have experience with...
