software for network diagrams

I saw some links to network diagrams on some threads and was wondering what software would be good to draw these diagrams, the ones with different colored boxes and arrows to represent parts of the lan, cabling, etc.

Thanks

I use Visio. But came across an application called networkview that will run through your network and create a diagram on the fly.

I actually use Excell lol. But I recently found a program called Dia CZE that is like visio but without the $999 price tag. (free)

Jamsan has the right of it. I use the same free one when I need something to do that.

I'll check out the nework notepad. Also I can try out visio on a friend's laptop that I have access to.

Thanks Jaqie and Jamsan
