Just purchased the OEM version off Newegg for 40.99 free ship... will Nero 6 Ultra work with the drive?

else what burning softward do you recommend?
 
just curious I read that the NEC has a lot of different/improved firmware available. what does it really do besides maybe speeding up burn speed a little? I'm deciding between the Benq and nec.
