Software for Haupauge PVR-150?

I am trying to figure out what software is needed to correctly use the Haupauge PVR-150 to convert my PC into an HTPC. I have seen recommendations for the use of Windows MediaCenter Edition, SageTV, BeyondTV, ShowShifter, and numerous other bits & pieces of software.

Do I need both WinMCE AND one of the other items or could I just use one of the others with WinXP (which I already have)? Does WinMCE bring anything to the table the others don't?

If I can just use the other software with WinXP, what is the best software for this purpose?
