Can Adobe Photoshop import photos from any (generic) digital camera?
Is there any program that can do so?

well, most modern digital cameras can connect to a PC (or MAC) via an USB port ( some older ones as well as select few of the newer ones lack that feature, however most of those utilize regular serial connection to transfer the data ). Anyway they all should come with software that anables you to see the camera ( its memory card to be specific ) as an another drive on your PC (or MAC). For example I have a JVC GC-QX3 camera, which comes with a USB connector and a USB cable. All i have to do to grab the images from the camera's memory card is to connect the USB cable between the the it's USB port and the PC and I'm set. The memory card shows up immediatly as an extrnal disk, which I can access like any regular drive i.e. i can delete from it, move stuff around, as well as read from it.

Actually, most programs today can import from the camera if the software is TWAIN compatable (sort of like a scanner I guess?). Check to see if the software supports TWAIN if it does, you should be set... assuming your camera does too.

My DC280 is recognized by PSP, Photosshop and a few others.
