Hello folks,

I would like to design a clock like this one to teach DS reading a clock. I have a spare lying around. Any idea how can I design a dial like this, contains hours and minutes?

Is there any software that will do this for me?

Thanks in advance.

The dial face is no big deal. You can easily make that using PowerPoint.
Use 3M art spray to fix the new face to the time plate.

Similarly make and print the clock hand extensions on suitable colored art deco card stock, shorten the OEM clock hands using aviation/metal snips then fasten the printed art deco extensions suitably to the clock hands using art deco glue.

Instead of f'n around with a mechanical POS like what youve show, just write a software application that demos an animated clock face, flashes appropriately the symbology with option to speak the time increments. Make it programmable/modifiable - different interesting faces, time increments, add animal sounds, etc, the sky is the limit.

You might even be able to market the software.

PS: Come to think of it, you could actually use the animated presentation capability of MS PowerPoint to build a suitable demo as described above (even having attached audio files for periodic time announcements).

Im a little unclear. Are you looking for a *software* clock, or CAD software specifically for clock designing with the purpose of making physical clocks?

@C1,
The idea is, that clock will be hung on the wall (physically) in DS' room, so this is not animation or that sort. Plus, I understand that I could make the dial face in powerpoint but I doubt if it will be precise to the level that hexagon (or any other shape) as shown in the clock that cited, will cover the minutes number. So I am looking for an application that will do the job with precision.

Writing the software, I am not a techie. I am not smart enough to be able to code, hence the question.

@Mushkins,
I would like to modify clock physically to be used in DS' room. So the program that will draw the numbers for me with precision.

Maybe Inkscape. That's a vector graphics program. I've only played with it a bit, but haven't been able to figure it out. It doesn't work like Gimp.

Well, I have Illustrator, so I could use that too but I am not too sure how I can use that one to draw the dial like one cited.

Photo Elements or Photoshop should work. So will things like Corel Print Office and maybe even better yet might be CD Label Writing software. (Why this stuff is mentioned is because Im trying to suggest something inexpensive or that may be already available.)

If you want to make it into a nice looking art project then layout the tick marks for the clock face on high quality art deco paper then apply stick on letters and digits available from craft stores. (Ninety nine cents stores always have these.) You could make it as fancy as you want.

You know what - LMAO ....... You can actually steal the clock face right from the web page of your example. Just import clock jpg from webpage into PE, erase the hands, repair the affected numerals, adjust color levels (eg, using magic wand whiten face and adjust/enhance numeral colors) then print out face to the percent scale wanted (eg, print to 150% size using say 300 dpi). Example:
