Software emulation for Raid 0 (stripe) ?

Hello,

I have two hard drives on a raid 0 stripe on my other computer. Basically I can't start up windows on it anymore, and I'm pretty sure it's a controller problem. I'm using a Promise FastTrak 100 TX2, and windows install freezes when trying to read the device. I've tried putting the card & two drives in my other computer without any more luck, and all the normal stuff.

Anyway, I have some data I would like to get off the drives (not all that important, but would rather try than losing it). What I'm thinking is to plug the two drives into a normal ide controller, and then have some software read the raid just so I can get it off. Does anyone know any software that can do this, windows or linux? (pref windows). I would think this should be possible if the data is put on the drives in some 'standard' way or the filesystem table is on the drives which the software can read.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Steve

I don't know of any easily available software to do this, the recovery shops certainly have some. My advice is to go hunt down a cheap replacement TX2 card in the FS/T forum and use it.
