Software DVD players and Hardware DVD players

Okay i got a question. right now i am using the creative hardware dvd player that came with my Creative Labs Encore 8x dvd drive AND DECODER.

Well i want to try to use PowerDVD and so i was wondering if i needed to uninstall any drivers or anything else?

No, you can just use that, but I am not sure if it'll use your decoder card (you meant decoder right?)
