softmodding PCI-E X800 Pro to a x800XTPE (its VIVO)

I'd like to do this to unlock the 4 extra pipes, maybe Rivatuner? Ive read the articles about the hardmod but would like to go the softmod route so I don't have to change out bios and take off the cards fan.

This the card I picked up, and yes it has VIVO

nope its not possible...ATI has factory corrupted the remaining 4 pipes on all PCI-e X800Pros(Vivo). you would be able to softmod it only if it were AGP.

It will only work on the X800 Pro VIVO and X850 Pro VIVO. Manufacturer does not matter. It will not work on any non-VIVO cards.
The modified flashrom has been updated on Jan 03 2005 to support both AGP and PCI-Express X800 Pro VIVO cards. The mod is the same, just get a X800 XT PE PCI-E BIOS when flashing a PCI-E card.

Do you have a old PCI video card?
If the flash went wrong you could always go back if you have a backup to boot the PC.

I can confirm that. I previously had the AGP version unlocked, but when I upgraded to a PCI-e mainboard, I bought one of those PCI-e PROs and it would not unlock.

I tried all possible BIOS. I gave up and bought another card.
