SODIMM: why is DDR way more expensive than DDR2

DDR is consistently more expensive than DDR2 everywhere. why??

Less demand for DDR, smaller production batches for DDR, and it`s cheaper to make DDR2.

Because everyone makes DDR2 right now.

I just added DDR to my laptop. SPD says it was made Week24 of 2007, so it doesn't look like they're running on inventory.

They still make it, but only in small batches.
