Rate them shits. I'd go with:

S-Tier: Coke, Purple Crush
A-Tier: Baja Blast, Strawberry Fanta, Sprite, Purple Stewarts, Orange Stewarts
B-Tier: Dr Pepper, 7-up, Orange Crush, Orange Fanta, Big Red
C-Tier: Pepsi, Starry
D-Tier: Mountain Dew
F-Tier: Diet Coke

Diet Mountain Dew is the Empress of pops.
Diet Pepsi and Coke Zero are pretty good, Pepsi Max a bit less so
The rest of the pop is pretty crappy.

All I know is Coke is way better than Pepsi, but I stopped drinking sodas somewhere between 10 and 15 years ago. It's no bueno!

my all-time favourite was Wink (Canada Dry brand)

I really miss that orange-grapefruit kick.

Sounds a bit like Squirt. I think that's what I'm thinking of. It was pretty good. I don't really drink soda anymore. I'll occasionally get some kind of boutique brand , but that's about it. Might get a coke with some fastfood, but I usually prefer water. I drink a fair amount of flavored and unflavored seltzers though.

the closest soda I can now find is Fresca - sort of a diet version of wink.

You need to move all those down a row. S-Tier would be stuff like Bundaberg, Maine Root, Fentimans...
I drank so much Bundaberg Lemon Lime Bitters on a trip I did to New Zealand a few years ago and would put that shit S++ tier, probably the best soda I have ever had. Probably drank even more of that than Speights tbh. Didn't want to list it since I don't see it in the US though. Speaking of NZ, why the hell do we not have chicken flavored chips in the US like those kiwis have? Got addicted to the Bluebird chicken chips with the penguin on the bag when I was there.

Bundaberg Ginger Beer is amazing, love it
This was also really good, liked L&P in NZ as well but my favorite had to be the sarsaparilla soda I found in Australia, i think it was Schweps, that was amazing

Root beer tastes like embrocation smells.
Quark:
I want you to try something for me. Take a sip of this.

Elim Garak:
What is it?

Quark:
A human drink. It's called root beer.

Elim Garak:
[unwilling] Uh, I don't know...

Quark:
Come on, aren't you just a little bit curious? [Garak sighs, takes a sip and gags]

Quark:
What do you think?

Elim Garak:
It's *vile*!

Quark:
I know. It's so bubbly, and cloying, and *happy*.

Elim Garak:
Just like the Federation.

Quark:
But you know what's really frightening? If you drink enough of it, you begin to *like* it.

Elim Garak:
It's insidious!

Quark:
*Just* like the Federation.

Not one Root Beer? Fake list!

This Root Beer is a taste experience as complex as anything you'll ever drink.
I had a roommate from Hungary in college who worked on cruise ships before and he said his first time docking in the US he went to this place in NYC with his co-workers and saw root beer on the menu and thought it sounded amazing. Gets it and spits that shit out saying WTF kind of beer is this crap? :tearsofjoy:
