SocketA with 3 sticks DDR

I have 2 - 256 mb. single sided now, with a third slot that I plan on filling with a 512mb. double sided module. Should I expect incompatibilities, abhorrent slowness with timings, or any other surprises? Mobo is Abit NF7-S2, all rams are generic.

I personally would get rid of you genric ram and get 2x512MB sticks and run it in dual channel.

That's not an option at this point. My main concern is how compatible single and double sided modules are together on socket A. I've also heard that Dual Channel will still run in this config. provided the third module is double in size, though I'm not overly concerned about double channel. What kind of hit should I expect on timings; I run 2.5-3-3-11 now?

is it the NF7-S2 or NF7-S v2? The v2 will work fine with that config, I did it for a couple weeks.

Its the NF7-S2, I'm sure it'll at least work. Did it really skew your timings Whatever?

no, it worked fine. 2-3-3 with CH-5, which is what it would do with either by itself.
