Just got my Socket Tbird today and noticed there's some rubber feet on top of the processor. Apparently to space the processor from the heatsink so as to not crush the circuits on top.

How is this going to affect heat distribution, except for the rubber feet there's no direct contact with the CPU. Do I just start creaming the goods with the Thermal Paste? or just put the heatsink on top, no paste, and hope the grommits do the job?

Anyone else go through this?

Thanks.

the rubber feet are designed to allow a heatsink to sit flat on the slug(the center piece) which is the actual cpu.

Put grease on the center portion, then a heatsink.. make sure it is resting flat on the slug, and all should be good.
